Waffle Day and the Death of a Legend

1. According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny with a high around 61 degrees.

2. Elementary schools are serving pizza or pasta with meat sauce, cheese toast, broccoli and cheese, cucumber coins, fruit and cake. Middle schools are serving baked chicken tenders, yeast roll, mashed potatoes and garden peas. High schools are serving beef teriyaki, steamed veggies, rice pilaf and mini eggrolls.

3. Yesterday we learned how local families are dealing with rising gas prices. Don't forget to check Patch every morning for the cheapest place to get gas in Holly Springs and Hickory Flat.

4. It's National Waffle Day. We'll be checking in at the Waffle House later today to see if there are any special celebrations going on. 

5. Movie legend Elizabeth Taylor died yesterday at the age of 79. We've uploaded some of her movie clips to this story, but be sure to check out her Twitter feed to really get a feel for what a legend thinks. Hint: It's nothing like the stars today's tweets.

Rebecca Black annoys Twitter users as she continues to trend

Rebecca Black has been on a charm offensive recently with her hit song Friday but she's still getting not getting any love from Twitter users who are now complaining about the fact she's still a hot trending topic

The 13-year-old's cheesy video for her debut track Friday has now been viewed over 42 million times and Rebecca has been interviewed by the likes of Good Morning America and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno but it seems as if there's no sign that interest in the Black Plague - as she's been dubbed - is slowing down. 

On Twitter, users started to complain after her name continued to pop up in the top ten trending topics after first appearing two weeks ago. 

PaigePhoebe wondered: 'Maybe her friday song infected the twitter system. know what I'm wondering? why is Rebecca black STILL trending?

ADchelsea11 raged: 'O bloody hell. is Rebecca Black still trending? gosh u guys are all sad to keep going on about her. you don't like her, don't listen to her.'

AndreaShredder said: 'rebecca black is still trending. this has gotta be some kind of a record.' 

Tashaparsonsx wrote: 'How is Rebecca Black still trending? its been like 2 weeks people, get over it.' 

Black was rubbished for her Auto-Tuned vocals and repetitive lyrics in Friday but has since become a huge star. 

She even performed an acoustic version of Friday for ABC but fans were still unconvinced. 

Black insisted: 'I think I have talent on some level, I don't think I'm the worst singer, but I don't think I'm the best singer.'
